If comfort and affordability are what you want, we have it for you!

Our log and wood sided modern cabins have knotty pine and paneled interiors.  All cabins have Air Conditioning and Color TV.  (Enjoy a full line of modern DishNetwork TV programming...over 60 quality TV channels, including several ESPN channels and the NFL Network.)  All cabins have fireplaces and heaters for those chilly nights.  All cabins are fully equipped including tableware, cooking pots and pans, microwaves, electric coffee makers, crock pots, clock radios, charcoal grills and much more.  You'll need to bring towels, foil and cling wrap.

 HIGH SPEED WIRELESS INTERNET SERVICE IS AVAILABLE AT THE LODGE

For your enjoyment we have an indoor swimming pool and an outdoor swimming pool, both of them heated for the comfort of our Registered Guests only.  Both pools and the sauna are open Memorial Day through Labor Day weather permitting.  All guests must abide by Pool Rules.  Our sauna is located just off the indoor pool in the lodge.

On May 15, 2009...we installed New Stainless Steel Safety Drain covers in BOTH our swimming pools.  Oak Haven Resort's Pools now meet the State of Minnesota minimum requirements of January 2011.

Tired of cooking or just need a treat?

ICE CREAM!!  Try our Moose Tracks and Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream.  Or a sensational Root Beer Float with free Root Beer refills!!  We have fast short order food available right in the lodge, including burgers, fries, cheese sticks, onion rings and pizza.  Oak Haven's Restaurant (limited hours) serves our Registered Guests only.  (Open during summer months only) Our Lodge is our Year Round Home.  Shirt and Shoes and Good Behavior (such as No Profanity) are required in our Lodge.

How about some gas for the boat?

We have Premium unleaded gas for that precious motor!  A quality 2 cycle oil is also available.  Gas and oil are available to our Registered Guests during normal lodge hours. 

Trying to keep those drinks or fish cold?

Five pound bags of ice are available at the lodge for $2.00 each.

Something quiet to do?

We have 2 canoes and 2 paddle boats available for your pleasure cruising!  Life jackets must be worn per DNR.  (Canoes and Paddleboats are not for fishing)  Come to our Lodge and borrow a book, game or puzzle to take back to your cabin.

Need gifts or tackle?

Visit the lodge!  This includes the game room, gift shop and restaurant.

We have hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, stuffed animals, gifts, tackle and more.

We stock a variety of novelties for the kids below $2.00! each.  We not only have the basic tackle (we try to stock what the fish are biting on) but some emergency supplies (break or forget your rod or need one for the kids?).

Something for the kids?

We have a play room in the lodge with various toys and tables for younger kids.  It is located just off the pool so a parent or guardian can sit and watch those swimmers!  We have books, games and a collection of VHS tapes available for check out.

Basketballs and soccerballs are available from the lodge.

We have pinball, video machines and foosball in the lodge.

Outdoor activities include horseshoes, bocce ball, 1/2 court basketball, tether ball, sandbox and a Rainbow playground with swings, toddler swing, trapeze rings, deluxe glider and a slide off of the climbing tower.

ALL OF THE FOLLOWING IS FREE for Our Registered Guests!  (Prime Season Only....June through Labor Day)

• Monday evening we have our campfire by the river and everyone can come and enjoy hot-dogs and s'mores!  (See pictures below)
• We provide the free hot dogs, buns, weiner forks (we may need some help cookin' em though!)...ketchup, mustard, onions and pickle relish. Join the fun! Then it's Graham Crackers, milk chocolate bars and hot brown campfire cooked marshmallows for the perfect s'more!  And yes...you can have more than one!!
• Tuesday evening it's The Kid's Turtle Races! (See pictures below) Fun for everyone! Every kid who participates wins coupons good for prizes and ice cream at the Lodge.  Every kid wins no matter how the turtles choose to participate!
• Wednesday morning we have the "kid's only" fishing trip on the pontoon boat!  (See pictures below)  Every kid on board is required to wear his/her life jacket.  We use small jigs and/or bobber/minnow combinations and almost always catch lots of fish.  The Kids Pontoon Fishing Trip is from 10:00 AM until Noon every Wednesday, June through Labor Day.
• Then we serve a Free "kids only" fish fry at the lodge at 2:00 PM every Wednesday afternoon. (Prime Season)  We serve fresh fish, french fries and pop/water to the kids.  We talk about that day's fishing and what worked best! Parents and other guests are asked to not enter the Lodge on Wednesday's until after 3:00 PM. (The kids will tell you later on, just how much fun they had!)

ACTIVITIES AT OAK HAVEN RESORT

MONDAY NIGHT HOT DOGS AND S'MORES!
(Prime Season June thru Labor Day only)

We start the campfire by the water around 5:30 pm.  The fire is ready just about the time the goodies arrive by 6:00PM.  We provide hot dogs, buns, roasting forks and condiments.  Bring your own drink, then grab a fork and cook your hot dogs just the way you want them!  Join us every Monday Night at 6:00 PM for Free Hot Dogs and S'mores!!   (We are usually done with hot dogs by 6:30 and are ready to start with S'Mores...so don't be late.)  The above six photo's are all from 2009.

After those are gone here comes the best fun!

Marshmallows, graham crackers and CHOCOLATE BARS!  Around 6:30PM...roast your marshmallows to your liking and enjoy S'mores with your family and our other guests.  Or try this....get your crackers and your chocolate, and see Mike for that perfect Marshmallow that is golden brown, not burnt (some of you like them burnt and that's OK!)...Mike will serve you the golden brown marshmallow, cooked with patience, that is hot all the way through.  Together, lets enjoy the small things in life.

Afterwards, the waterside fire is going so why not stay and enjoy it for a while? 

New in 2008....enjoy our new 24' x 12' Pavilion, located just a few feet from the waters edge and near the bait shack. Lots of shade for those sunny days.  Two large picnic tables.  Running water within feet.  Electricity within feet.  Great shelter when its raining...or when the sun is just too warm.

TUESDAY IS RACE DAY!  IT'S THE KIDS TURTLE RACES!
(Prime Season June thru Labor Day only)

Draw a couple of circles, bring in the kids, introduce the turtles and we are having some kind of fun!  Whether you are watching from the sidelines or jockeying your favorite turtle, EVERYONE enjoys the kids turtle races!  Prize coupons are awarded to all participating kids, so everyone leaves a "Winner". (In case one of the Turtles is fussy!)   Join us every Tuesday Night at 7:00 PM for The Kids Turtle Races!!

WEDNESDAY MORNING KIDS ONLY PONTOON FISHING TRIP!
(Prime Season June thru Labor Day only)

We take the kids on the pontoon for 2 hours of fishing and fun every Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM.  (Thursday morning is the rain-out make up plan).  When we return the Skipper cleans the fish and that afternoon the kids come to the lodge for Fish and Fries with free pop too.  You would be amazed at how many "non-fish eaters" end up with a belly full of their own catch and love it!  It's a couple of hours where kids get to learn some fishing tricks from someone other than Mom or Dad!  You'll see their proud faces when we return with a stringer full of fish!  Mike and Debbie really enjoy this day with the kids!!  (Starting in 2009....No Cell Phones on this trip...Thanks!  Our focus needs to be on "Catching Lunch!")

• A Season Long Fishing Contest - tracking the longest Top Ten - for eight species of fish.  (Musky, Pike, Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Rock Bass, Crappie, Perch, and Sunfish/Bluegill)  You must get Mike to measure it, or show a digital photo of the fish on a yardstick as proof...that's all you need to join the contest!  Its free and its fun!  The Final 2008 Results and the 2009 current results will be posted in the Fish Cleaning House and in the Lodge during the 2009 Season for you to look at.  (You'll see how big your fish needs to be!)  We had some really nice fish booked in 2008 and hope to do even better in 2009.  Our Top Ten Largemouth Bass in 2008 were all 18 3/4 to 20 3/4 inches.  (BIG BASS!)  Our Top Ten Walleyes were all 23 to 28 1/2 inches.  Our Top Ten Crappies were all 13 1/8 to 14 1/2 inches.  (Mouth Closed...tail squeezed)  Our Top Ten Bluegill/Sunfish were 9 7/8 to 10 1/8.  (State Record is 10 1/4 !!)  These fish are measured accurately.  Are you up to it?  Can YOU make our 2009 Top Ten....in one of our EIGHT categories?  The Challenge is on.  By the way...many of our Top Ten fish...were landed by Mom's and kids of all ages.  Keep your bait/lure in the water and you never know what might bite it.  We have our own bait shack right by the water. 

ACTIVITIES AROUND BEMIDJI AND CASS LAKE AREA

The Chippewa National Forest, located only minutes away from Oak Haven Resort, offers hiking, hunting, and more than a million acres to explore. Itasca State Park, notable for the "Headwaters of the Mississippi", is within 40 minutes of our Resort.  Visit this park and walk across the Mighty Mississippi at it's birthplace!  They also have great trails with bikes available for rent!  Paul Bunyan's Animal Land is also just a short drive away.
